At least 2.2 billion people globally have a near or distance visual impairment, the World Health Organization states in its recent report. The adverse influence visual impairments have on people’s lives is manifold. Children with early vision impairments frequently experience delayed motor, language, emotional, social, and cognitive development and may struggle to perform academically.Encouraged by development in haptic technology, we have undertake Project Braille Tab – a prototype that triggers braille images of keywords extracted from audio Braille Tab offers visually impaired children a refreshable tactile display with the option to touch whatever is displayed on the screen. This brings the community one step closer to digital equality. Braille Tab is creating the tactile display that pushes through the boundaries and expands the possibilities of digital accessibility.
